A gift to the community allowing pre-school children to enjoy running around challenging themselves with various skills developing coordination, strength, and good manners.
This group is for children older and/or who want to get more a lot more out of their training experience. This is where children train to begin achieving really big things.
Yongmudo incorporates a variety of techniques (kicks, strikes, throws, jointlocks, submission wrestling) into a comprehensive system of personal health & self-protection.

MSMAP is resuming its partnership with the Dunsmuir CRC and offering a healthy activity program for seniors.

Why

When
December 27-29, 2011 January 3-5, 2012
10am to 2pm
We invite you to plant the seeds of success now and begin achieving big things.
The Mount Shasta Martial Arts Program (MSMAP) is pleased to once again offer a truly unique opportunity for children 5-years-old and up to try various martial arts in a safe, fun learning environment.
This is the third partnerships with the Mount Shasta Recreation & Parks District to create an ideal activity experience for children. Plus, since there is no ice rink and no day camp at City Park, families are free to take full advantage of this mini-camp opportunity.
The purpose of this introductory mini-camp is to allow children in Mount Shasta and surrounding communities to get a taste of different martial arts and learn some practical self-defense strategies and tactics. The curriculum emphasizes the basic skills of taekwondo and yongmudo and includes judo and Japanese sword arts including good manners. Go to:What is taekwondo? Go to:What is yongmudo?

Don’t take our word for how well the MSMAP program works. Read what our parents have to say. More...
Don’t take our word about what we doread what our parents say about us, what we do, and what they get from it.
“The instructors teach and encourage safety, manners, and respect while keeping it fun. Our sons have learned discipline, a new idea of what respect means, and how to deal with disappointment. They have discovered the joy and anxiety of preparing for a promotion test, and, most importantly, that focus and hard work pay off.”
Amy Cambou
“At competitions and promotion exams, I’ve seen the results of my son’s training at more levels than just the physical skills. He is focused and maintains his composure under pressure.”
Mark Hough
“Having the opportunity to participate in this program with my son makes the experience special and unique. Not only are we practicing a healthy lifestyle, but also building self confidence and strong minds together. As a Mom, I am thrilled to be in a program that is so family friendly!”
Shannon Neuman
“After only two classes, I can already see a difference in my daughter’s self-confidence and the sense of belonging to something that she can take pride in.”
Heather Justice
“The students’ respect and focus is always felt in the studio. The level of performance by the students is a direct reflection of the high level of instruction they receive. We are so fortunate to have such a quality martial arts program in our area.”
Kristin Carter
“After Competing in his first tournament and winning gold, my son now understands what training really means. It was awesome, a great experience!”
Does my child need to attend every day?
No. Attend as much as your schedule allows. However, to receive the full benefit, attending all three days allows for a more knowledge. And more fun!
Can my child attend the regular training at 4:30, 5:15, or 6:15pm?
Yes. However, our regular training sessions and our mini-camp are separate activities with separate fees. Because our mini-camp will be pretty busy, it is not recommended that children do both. Go to:MSMAP Training Schedule
“What’s this about ‘Good Manners’?”
Martial arts training is not about fighting; it is about learning physical skills over a period time to help develop self-confidence and self-respect to achieve big things. Good manners is an essential component to this process. Participants are expected to follow directions and be respectful of others as well as themselves.
